Howard Post
Howard Post is an impressionist artist who portrays the contemporary West in a modern fashion. Known for his paintings of cattle, cowboys, rodeo arenas, and ranch life executed with a unique aerial perspective his work is defined by orderly, strong shadow patterns cast by his images.  "I love to take common, overlooked images and bring out qualities that make them visually exciting," says Post.

A third generation Arizonan, he grew up on a ranch near Tucson. Post received a bachelor and master’s degree in fine art and later went on to teach at the University of Arizona and Arizona State University. He became a full-time painter in the late 1970’s.

Post’s oils and pastels are represented in numerous public, corporate and private collections throughout the United States: the Smithsonian Institutution, AT&T World Headquarters, United Airlines, and the U.S. Postal Service in Washington, D.C.

His work has been featured in many museum exhibitions and publications such as: Southwest Art, Arizona Highways, Art News and has also appeared in the prestigious 1997 publication, Leading the West: one hundred contemporary painters and sculptors.
